As we were discussing here, Links I Love is a series of posts dedicated to share valuable information in the form of articles, podcasts, or videos that I find on the web. I am constantly reading new books, watching videos, or listening to podcasts, and when I find something worth sharing, I’ll be sure to show it to you here. That way we can open up the conversation with each other, and hopefully it can help you in someway. When I watched this video of female celebrities giving confidence advice we all need to hear, I knew I had to share it with you guys!
I have so much respect for strong and passionate women that thrive in a competitive industry, specially acting/singing. In order to reach that level of success, hard work and discipline is an absolute must. These women weren’t born as celebrities, they built a career path for themselves. And they succeeded impressively. Although we see them as celebrities now, we have to remember that they were once normal people fighting for a dream they wanted to reach. They were normal people who would wake up everyday with a purpose to succeed. We see their success stories today, but in order to climb that latter; they had to experience hardships, downfalls, and a ton of mental strength to get through it all. These experiences shaped them into being the powerful women they are today, and thanks to that, we get to hear their sincere advice to all women.
Ashley Graham: “Perfect doesn’t exist. At the end of the day if you’re striving for perfection you’ll never get what you want. You have to do is be your true authentic self, that’s when you’ll find peace, success and love.”
Gabourey Sidibe: “You don’t have to become a celebrity in order to be happy. You are responsible for your own happiness, and you need to go and find it. Find happiness in little things and they will get bigger, and bigger and bigger”
Zendaya: “Confidence is not something that happens overnight, don’t rush yourself. As long as you do one thing a day to feel empowered, or to look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself how good you look today. Loving yourself is a process and everyone is on their own clock”
